Our story began in 1982.

When her husband Henry passed away, Wendy Yu was left alone with Yu's Tea Parlor - the little shop they had built together.

To ease her loneliness, she began hosting secret parties in the room behind the tea counter. She called it Jade Club.

Word spread quietly, and Jade Club became a hideaway for the Asian elite - artists, icons, and tastemakers. Andy Warhol and Madonna were frequent guests.

It was famous for one thing: its 魔法茶, or "magic tea." Legend has it that members who drank it left having met their soulmate.

After a fire swept through the parlor in 1988, Yu's - and Jade Club - vanished without a trace… until now.
